TOA is a trendy asian fusion restaurant taking Long Island by storm with several locations. This past weekend I got the opportunity to taste the menu at one of their newer locations, Melville.
The ambiance was so pretty and relaxing inside. We sat in the more secluded part of the restaurant, which was beautifully decorated. I recommend trying to get a spot in that room next time you go, it elevated our experience!
Dig in on these four
Pan Fried Pork Buns: I never had a pan fried pork bun before and I was blown away. The crispy bottom with the fluffy inside paired perfectly with their dipping sauce. The middle was filled with juicy pork. Definitely make sure you get this dish next time you are at TOA.
Rock Shrimp Tempura: The rock shrimp was delicious and had a perfect texture. Each shrimp was perfectly coated in their yummy sauce, which helped contribute to why this dish was so good. The portion of this dish was the perfect size to share with friends.
Crispy Rice: I would consider myself a crispy rice enthusiast, so I am very picky when it comes to it. The rice was fried perfectly- crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the use of guacamole instead of avocado. But this will be an easy fix as the next time I go I will sub in avocado instead.
Vegetable Fried Rice: This was my favorite dish of the night, I am so happy I ended up ordering it. The rice was seasoned perfectly and the vegetables were spot on. I didn't realize how big the portion was, but we had no issues finishing it since it was so delicious.
